Become a Volunteer!

Once the Community Center of Bakersfield finds a place to settle down, volunteer opportunities will abound. So you'll notice that some of the choices here can't happen quite yet. But right now we still need all the help you're willing to offer (not to mention it's a great way to meet people).

Get Involved! There's Something for Everyone

No matter who you are, there is something you can contribute to your community and the Community Center. Volunteer experiences are as varied as the people who participate. Giving to your community is a way to build confidence, friendships, and solidfy the Center's foundations that you, yourself, will find useful.

Students! talk to you teachers. Several of the high schools in Bakersfield require a type of community service in certain classes - see if volunteering for us will count! It also looks great on the college resume that you're an active member of your community.

How to Start Attend a Volunteer Orientation. Orientations are held the first Wednesday of each month, at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center. They give an introduction to the Center, a glimpse at the many volunteer experiences offered, and a tour of our incredible new building. Let us know you would like to attend by stopping in or calling (661) 328-0729. It's that easy! We'll be on our way to building our community together!
