August '03 ~ Ode

[ode to the spider, from the fly]

crystaline these patterned walls, the trap within which we lay
suddenly we find the greatest of falls, trips past the endearments we say
thus in you i find a moment's joy, as waves crashing to shore from sea
an epiphany, some sparkling toy, soon grappled 'way from me
all i find is one light ahead, a tunnel waning fast
something i should but always dread, this lure that's been cast
yet here i find this yearning rapture, some poison in your touch
nothing yet my soul's capture, absolution asks not much
come dance with me, treason, waltz towards this grace
a heartbeat nothing more than the change of season - life the grandest chase
