the stormwalker waits
lingering just beyond the lost horizon
night's balmy gaze turned spiderwebs of cautious touch
midnight's shadow covering withered, barren earth below
spectral compassion falls forfeit on the broken arms of naked trees
lover's caress retreats before the humiliation of defeat
obsidian's affectionate blanket no longer strong enough shield
moist soil heaves the weary strains of septic sigh
crippled to haggard ruin by the weight of wonton consumption
greed's relentless appetite mortaring bricks of landfill waste
there is little left to strain against compounding burial weight
blind gaze thrown celestial on the wings of silent scream
pity, she cries, pity to peel this rotting flesh from me
there's something behind the storm tonight
it watches from safe lair just beyond the curtain clouds
desperation's virgin turned whore spread wide on earthen stage
starved before the humor of infidel's toxic charm
how long must she wait for absolution's philandering swell
silence crafts the nature of seduction's wicked tryst
for then the rain clamours its acid-laced applause
voraciously joining the gravid earth with adultrous sky
wrought with ill intention comes torrent of guilt-fed tears
thunder's roar a welcome groan to cover growing tide
mudstain spread to little more than tinted bloody smear
the sky spits poison on the lips of corrupted earth
slanderous assault meant to brutalize once tender care
burning clean the effigy of civility's cross-bred lie
how weak steel seems when crumbling to the wrath of downpour's kiss
modern marvels left as little more than ashen graves worn thin with time
meaningless become the mightiest of generation's empires
fragile flesh and brittle bone reduced to transient dust
how glorious her stretch that greets returning sun
wounds scoured clean their parasitic glaze
hobbling fetters dismissed as latent dream
residual scar all that remains of filth-ridden crust
superficial imperfections healed to armoring veneer
the distant star warms unspoiled mantle
emerging from extinction's cavernous depths
